Founded in 1642, Snow Hill, the county seat of Worcester County, boasts three hundred years on the Pocomoke River, with many historic homes and churches that date back to those earlier years. Enjoy the town's charm and architectural highlights on the Snow Hill Walking Tour. Visit the Purnell Museum, home to arts and artifacts exclusively from Worcester County. Look in on the one-room schoolhouse, restored to its turn-of-the-century condition. Canoe rentals and river cruises originate right in town. Close by, the Shad Landing Area of the Pocomoke River State Forest and Park offers camping, boating, a pool and marina. Also in the vicinity is Furnace Town, a re-creation of the 1840's village at the Nassawango Iron Furnace.
